Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how The Liggett Group ("we," "our," or "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on the TLG Claims Validation Platform. We keep our use of cookies to a minimum — we use only what is necessary for the Platform to function.
1. Cookies We Use
We use a small number of strictly functional cookies. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| session | Authenticates your session after you sign in. Required for the Platform to recognize you across page loads. | HttpOnly, Secure | 7 days |
| tlg_run_token | Authorizes a single document analysis run. Consumed (burned) when the run starts. | HttpOnly, Secure | 72 hours (or until used) |
Both cookies are HttpOnly, meaning they are not accessible to client-side JavaScript. They are used solely for authentication and authorization — never for tracking.
2. Local Storage
We use browser local storage (not cookies) for one preference:
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| tlg-theme | Stores your light/dark theme preference so it persists across visits. | Until cleared by you |
Local storage data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
3. What We Do Not Use
- No third-party tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking service.
- No advertising cookies. We do not serve ads or use advertising networks.
- No analytics cookies. We do not use cookie-based analytics. Any usage metrics we collect are server-side and not tied to cookies.
- No cookie consent banners. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies for authentication, most jurisdictions do not require a consent banner. We provide this policy for transparency.
4. Managing Cookies
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that if you block or delete the session cookie, you will need to sign in again each time you visit the Platform.
Instructions for managing cookies in common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site data
5. Changes to This Policy
If we add new cookies or change how we use existing ones, we will update this page. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
